Daytona Trip

So for quite some time I have trouble with my knees. Unfortunatly it has been affecting my riding lately, but I've got an Orthepedic appointment in a few days!! I'm excited yet scared. You can't ride a bicycle around the world with bad knees, and I'm afraid they're going to tll me something crazy like I can never ride again at least not long distances. I guess I'm just a little nervous but I really hope everything goes well. My trip to Daytona has been set back a little because of the appt. but it's probably for the best. I'm really excited for this trip, it's about 70 miles of pure Florida! There's about 5 gas stations the whole way, a pull in swimming area, a statue...selling place? and of course all the campgrounds of the Ocala National Forest which is one of THE BIGGEST National Forests in the country :D Once I get to Daytona I'll be staying for at least a week so I can visit my two sisters and their children; my wonderful neices and nephews. Of course the beach is also a plus...a major one.I don't have a beach cruiser but I'm fine with walking on the beach haha. Wish me luck at the doctors appointment so I can actually start my vacation?!! Hopefully I can relax, paint, draw and take more pictures like this one that I took, I'm not the biggest fan of editing but it's fun to do occasionally n.n Goodnight!!

Older But Bolder

I've had this bike for the majority of my life; no brakes, stuck on the hardest to pedal gear, rusted to hell, and no handle bar covers. I honestly miss riding this bike, I have a somewhat new bicycle now, but I'm saving up for a newer lightweight one I can take around the world. This bike was in such bad shape but it's covered in nostalgia. This is the bike that I came to the realization of my dreams on, this bike is a milestone in my life. Though it's been through everything I have I will never get rid of this bicycle. And don't I look FABULOUS?!

The World(No matter how far from your backyard)is BEAUTFUL! ;D

Today at 7 am I left the house to bike to Gainsville. It's only about 40 miles to Gainsville from where I live but if you take the right fourty it can be so beautful. Taking this trip I saw a lot of suprising things, though man made there's a giant hole I guess you would call it will 300 foot cliffs and rock, but at the bottom is a gorgeous lake. Of course the place is blocked off but it's pretty easy to get to if you're on a bicycle. Along the way there are a lot of parks and camp grounds but what's the fun in authorized paroozing? Lol. There's a real small town about half way to Gainsville called McIntosh, they have a really great art festival once a year. They also have a place called the trading post, which in all actuallity is just someones yard FILLED and I mean FILLED with stuff. Thousands of things that have been in this yard for years, and since it's always out except for a few things they keep in a rugged old building it's cheap stuff! i spent about an hour or so there today but I couldn't stay much longer then that. Honestly you'd need days to go through this place. A while past that is a local 'grocery' I honestly walked in expecting it just to be a convience store but it's a real cute information center and restaraunt. Being a vegetarian all I could really eat where the sides that came with the meals but they were delicous. I can't remeber if it was before or after the store but you could visit Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' house, the author of the yearling, I almost stopped by but was in desperate need of water...so it must've been before the store. Another great thing about the trip from Ocala to Gainsville is that not only does it have a bike lane the whole way but the last two miles into Gainsville is nothing but Payne's Prarie, it's a real beauty. Well that's all I've got for today.
This kind of thing was just laying around at the TRADING POST

Introduction!

Alright, I'm not so sure on how all this works I'm not the best with technology. I'm Hayley MacDonald and as of right now I'm training myself to travel the world by bicycle whilst selling my art on the way. Like most everyone I've had a yearning to leave town and see the world, up until about 9 months ago I never really  knew how or when I was actually going to embark on this
adventure. One day while pedeling around I realized how much I really love the world; nature, people, archetectuire, shiney new things, and torn to bits old things(mainly the old things), I also realized that I could pedal forver. Everything is much more intimate on a bicycle. Since I put everything together I've been saving up money, training, and learning about the world in ridiculous depth. I still have quite a while before I leave Florida, but until then I'll post about the amazing things I find here, up and down the state. There are amazing beauties everywhere, you just have to look.
